ISAAC NEWTON,THE GREATEST MIND EVER

Sergio Andres Cardona Gonzalez

Since we were kids we have been studying different physicists, mathematicians, and astronomers. Some of this important people provide us valuable and useful information for our studies. Others discovering insignificant things but of great value to our knowledge and life. It will be kind of difficult deciding which one of them is the smartest or the most important. On the other hand, we can tell who was the one that contribute the most. This is kind of a difficult question, but it can be answered.

It is kind of incredible that through the things we have studied there is a man who contributed in many different ways in our lives. Isaac Newton, English, it is considered one of the top contributors. He was a physicist, astronomer, mathematic and other professions that lead him to be what he was. Newton invented the Universal Law of Gravity. This law made him invents the “3 Laws of Motion”. Through these laws he tried to explain how stars and planets moved. After this he invented the first reflecting telescope.

Passing from physics to math, Isaac was considered the father of Integral Calculus. Together with his colleague gave way to differential calculus. Thanks to this invention, a new formula for the velocities of gases was created. People like Galileo and John Philoponus used some experimental procedures that Newton invented and it defined the use of these experiments. Isaac Newton is and was admired by a lot of people and criticized by others. Hooke was one of the people who liked to criticize Newton. Because of this, Newton released a lot of his own formulas and studies in books after Hooke’s death. “Optics” and “Principia Matematica” were the names of his books. In his books content, he released the laws about the gravity together with four principles were he explained some theories about the movements of planets and stars, and other interesting information.

This famous and important gentleman has been an inspiration for many. His discoveries, because of the advantage of technology and life, have been helpful for all types of development.  Even dead, his discoveries are still important. It is very amazing how a person contributes so many things. After Isaac’s death, Alexander Pope expressed himself saying:”Nature and Nature’s laws lay hid night: God said, Let Newton be and all was light.”

As a matter of fact, Michael White on his book the last Sorcerer is the second most important contributor after Newton. For me, it is no wonder knowing this because a person like Isaac Newton can be consider as an outstanding person. Even we can consider him as the most important scientist and mathematic in history. If we think for a moment we can get to the conclusion that without his discoveries a lot of things that we already know could not exist. We should admire him for his wisdom that still, with all his discoveries he knew that a lot of new things remained to be discovered and learned.
